EndSARS: Bullets Fired At Lekki Tollgate Were From Nigerian Army: Forensic Expert


Following the controversy over the loss of life in Lekki Tollgate during the EndSARS protest on Friday October 20, 2020, a forensic company.

Sentinel Forensic Limited, testified in the Inquiry and Restitution Courtestablished to deal with the Details of the shooting reveal place during the protest.

Company representative Joseph Kayode Funsho said during atestimonyto the panel that live ammunition (bullets) had been registered with the Nigerian military.

However, he said the spaces did not match the Nigerian Army’s inventory records..

However, the company’s results appear to contradict claims madeby the Nigerian military.

In November 2020, the commander of the 81st Military Intelligence Brigade, Brigadier Ahmed Taiwo, insisted during histestimony before the panel that only empty bullets of gunpowder were fired at the Lekki toll booth on October 20.

He also insisted that the military only fire in the air and not directly at the # EndSARS protesters.

While explaining that the empty bullets used could not harm meat, Brigadier Taiwo said that if real bullets were fired, one bullet would have the power to kill three people with a single shot.

The Commission of Inquiry adjourned the hearing to Saturday, September 11th.
